About M4K
Mustaches for Kids Omaha is the local chapter of Mustaches for Kids, a volunteer-run organization started in Los Angeles in 1999 to do good and have fun by growing Mustaches for children's charities. The concept is pretty simple, you get pledges/donations to grow a Mustache for one month. All the money raised during this fundraiser is donated to a local children's charity. This year, we have partnered with the Nebraska Children's Home Society, a local charity that provides no cost adoption, foster care, parenting support, and childcare for families in Nebraska. At the end of the growing season, we have Stache Bash, a mustache-themed costume party during which we crown the winner of the coveted "Sweetest Stache". So it's all pretty simple: mustache, charity, and competition infused with meaningless pageantry. You can spare four weeks of your life for that. Click HERE for the website for the national organization.
Even if you can't grow a mustache (job restraints, genetics, female) you can still support M4K by sponsoring a grower and/or coming to the weekly "checkpoints" to enjoy the revelry. Click HERE to hear an interview about M4K on 1110 KFAB with Scott Voorhees.
In the words of Mark Twain, "I've never met a man with a mustache that was not good, honest, decent, awesome, good-looking, humble, sexy, wise, and a fantastic dancer." (from "The Book of Stuff Mark Twain Never Said")
